Representatives of Barcelona's great star, Lionel Messi, met with messengers of Manchester City last week. The talks took place in a restaurant in the Catalan capital and the topic was a possible transfer of "Argentine" to Etihad. Citizens are ready to pay an exemption clause in Messi's contract amounting to 300 million euros.
Controversy is the information about the player's intentions. According to some editions of the island, the Argentine has seriously considered a change after what happened with Neamar.
As early as last month, Barcelona announced the news that the club and Messi had reached a new four-year contract. More than six weeks later, the contract has not yet been formally signed. This fueled speculation and raised some concerns among Catalan fans. Spanish Sky Sports Specialist Guyme Balage, however, is confident that Messi is not going to leave and will soon sign the contract. Still, question marks will remain until that happens.
