France with second victory at the European Championship

European Champion 2013 France achieved its second Eurobasket 2017 victory after a defeated 115: 79 (29:25, 20:17, 37:14, 29:23) in a third round match in Group A, over outsider Iceland.

Thus, the French will temporarily take the lead with 2 wins and 1 loss, but will take the lead if later Slovenia prevails over Greece.

The Helsinki match started better for the French team, which led 11: 5 after a fine shoot by Joffrey Lovenr's trophy. However, a series of 11: 2 points followed in favor of Iceland and Bulgaria's rival in the world qualifiers led with 16:13.

The urge of the Icelanders, however, was quickly stopped by the "cocks" and at the end of the first quarter they again led with 29:25.

This was also the turning point in the match, as the difference did not stop growing in favor of France.

Particularly strong for the players of Vincent Cole was the third quarter in which France realized the remarkable 37 points against just 14 for the rival.

The most useful for the Frenchman with 16 points was Nando de Colo, and all 12 players of the team were among the realists. Edwin Jackson and Kevin Seraphin added 14 points for success, and for Iceland, Jon Arnor Stephansson finished 23 and Martin Hermannsson added 13.

So far, Iceland has three losses of three games and practically no chances to continue in the next stage of the European.
